When I started building my coaching business in 2016 after finishing a year-long coaching programme with 200 other coaches, for sure, I was excited to launch.

But as time went by after finishing, I got to see the reality of building a business alone.

It certainly was not the journey I anticipated.

When I finished the programme I was sure I would hit 6 figures in 6 months – the programme sold that and I was ready to rock.

I did everything.

Got the website, packages, mailing list, freebie.. Yup did it all.

I enrolled in course after course to learn as much as I could about online marketing and business building to the tune of £20-£30K or more.

What the programme didn’t prepare me for was how to bring it all together, or the harsh reality of the other journey you would then need to undertake when you don’t have support anymore.

I was wiped out financially after I finished and a year later I realized how crucial having a 1 to 1 business coach was after I decided to hire one.

Previously I had the community to receive guidance, ask questions, be around other likeminded women in a Facebook group, and even meet up with.I loved having a step by step path carved out for me over those12 months, but when the group finished I felt like I’d lost an arm.

I had my biz up and running but then the big girls /big boss stuff of getting clients came along things became a lot harder as I didn’t have someone guiding me on what I was doing wrong or right for that matter. I spend so much time in my own head.

I spent months thinking people would flock to me because I was ready to serve and transform but little did I know how much content and audience building was required to get those people flocking!

It took me a year to attract my first premium client but I learned so much during that time I decided to share some key tips for you today so you don’t have to make the same mistakes I did.

5 WAYS TO WALK THE TALK AND STAND OUT IN YOUR BUSINESS

  1. Become your own best friend. Most of your friends, family or work colleagues if you’re still part-time in your biz, will not fully understand your journey. Building an online business has many challenges and most notably, these challenges will only be seen by you not them. So, step into the energy of backing yourself. Say to yourself you will find the answers, you can do it and you will do what you set out to do.
Learn to trust yourself. I can’t stress how important this is for business. On a day to day basis you already know you’re having to make a zillion decisions. Having your own online business amplifies that 10 times! From designing your social media pages, content posts, who to work with who not to work with, what programmes to join which not, .. as you can hear, it’s a lot right? So learn how to tune into your intuition and inner voice/guidance.
The better you can do this the less time you’ll waste “thinking if something is right for you and second guessing.
Second guess is not the energy you want to be in to gain momentum. Second guessing and procrastination hold you back because you feel you lack something and lack energy is linked to a scarcity mindset and that is one of the biggest business killers today.

Think you lack the charisma to attract clients? – that thought will bring you just – that 0 clients.

Think you lack the ability to charge your worth or create premium programmes at £2K or more? Guess what – you wont put yourself out of your comfort zone to try.

  1. Create conviction within yourself about what you offer – Never doubt yourself or your purpose. This will be your north star compass. If you are lit up about what you do, follow that hunch, that spirit that calling and don’t let anybody talk you out of changing your mind.

There’s a lot of noise out there and scarcity marketing strategies which aim to make you feel like you’re constantly in the wrong which can throw you off course if you’re not mindful.
It had me on the merrygoround for months with my coaching niche when I first started until I filtered out the noise, and came back to what felt authentic and right.

Guess what my niche is now? It’s exactly what I started with! – coaching female entrepreneurs to package up their brilliance so they can do what they love and make more money with their own freedom based coaching or consulting business. Yes exactly as it was 3 years ago.. helping women to start or grow a business by providing step by step support so they can stop charging the hour, create premium packages and have a profitable business without the hustle and grind. Have you ever doubted your niche? .. maybe that will be a separate blog I’ll do.

4. Create more of your own content and find a rhythm for posting it.
I really wish I had known how important this was earlier and was shown a way to manage it easily. I learnt it’s all well and good someone telling you what to do, but then you need to know how to do it and that part only a few people seem to realize is important.

With my coaching I like to break this down to my clients and chunk tasks so that you have a process or system do it faster without compromising your sanity or energy. It really does work wonders for flow and confidence

5. Stop trying to figure it out alone – So facebook groups are great for diving in and getting helpful tips and tools, video trainings or the odd freebie, but if you want to make serious money in your business and move away from it just being an expensive hobby or untouchable dream and be signing premium clients at £2K or more, free things will not get you there. The faster you get help to guide you on implementing all the free stuff you’ve learned, is what switches the dial. .

There was a point I was consuming so many webinars and challenges and audios that I found myself spending more time on that than on creating my own content.

Because what happened was, I had all this knowledge, but wasn’t sure if I was putting it together right – this is where the second-guessing comes in.. so trust me this is a real no no. If you’re stuck, get help implementing to move forwards.

Go all-in with your business and invest in someone who can support, coach, and guide you in a holistic way – focusing on what you’re creating on the outside, as well as the inside so along the way you’re transforming into a higher version of yourself.

Get help from someone who can help you create your own DNA blueprint brand amongst a sea of other people doing the same, someone who will take the time to learn about the real you so you can bring her to the world.

Has any of the above come up for you?

I’d love to hear your thoughts if this was helpful?
